Storytelling with engaging newsletters, blogs, and more.

When it comes to retaining customers and donors, newsletters and blogs are incredibly important. These communication channels allow businesses and organizations to stay top-of-mind with their audience and keep them engaged and informed about important updates, events, and initiatives. By consistently providing valuable content through newsletters and blogs, businesses and organizations can build strong relationships with their customers and donors, which can ultimately lead to increased loyalty and support.

One of the key benefits of newsletters and blogs is that they provide a direct line of communication between businesses and their audience. This means that businesses can tailor their messaging and content to the specific needs and interests of their customers and donors, which can help to keep them engaged and invested in the brand. Additionally, newsletters and blogs can be used to provide exclusive offers and promotions to loyal customers and donors, which can help to incentivize continued engagement and support.

Another important aspect of newsletters and blogs is that they can help to establish credibility and authority within a given industry or niche. By consistently providing valuable and informative content, businesses and organizations can position themselves as thought leaders and experts in their field. This can be especially important for non-profit organizations and other mission-driven businesses, as it can help to build trust and legitimacy with donors and supporters. Overall, newsletters and blogs are essential tools for businesses and organizations looking to build strong relationships with their customers and donors and drive long-term success.

Real Stories, Real Results

For almost thirty years, Know Good has been telling great stories and connecting audiences to charities and businesses across Canada and the world.

And if there is one element of a brand’s activities that factored into their success more than any other in that time, it was the quality and consistency of their communications with stakeholders.

Know-Goodnik Conor shares specific examples when he delivers keynote speeches on this topic:

  • A local business that only communicated with customers when it was time for them to renew their service agreement. All of the content they shared online by mail was revenue-focused. Retention was dipping, and revenue was also starting to slip.
    • A strategy to present content that was aligned and tangential to the business was put into place, and a calendar was developed that would limit reactionary content creation while allowing flexibility on what to share based on customer engagement.
    • Within 60 days, average revenue per customer increased more than 8% and retention was restored to previous highs. Within 6 months, revenue and retention were setting new records every month and the business was looking for additional workers and equipment to keep up with demand. The number of positive online reviews also increased in this time.

  • Fearful of donor fatigue, a charity limited communication with donors to twice per year – once to request a gift, and once to say thank you. Impact stories were shared on an irregular schedule through the organization’s website, which reported low traffic statistics.
    • A strategy to connect regularly with donors and funders was brought into force. Audiences received regular communications about impact and operations, and the new communication tool enabled the charity to increase stewardship of sponsors, donors, and third-party fundraisers, too.
    • Open and Click rates were more than triple the sector average in the first 60 days, and maintained this pace for the entire duration of our engagement with this client. Individual and Corporate donations increased, with donors inspired not by a request to give, but rather by the stories that were shared.
